My Squares from Vicki

Yay! It's actually been here for a few days, but I had an awful time with my new scanner, and all the photos I took of it were awful.

Isn't it wonderful? I absolutely love Quakers, and I love the blue and purple floss! She did the name square in a lovely red varigated, too. My two favorite floss colors :) Thank you so much!

*edit* I have no idea why this back-dated itself :/ Fixed it!

Hannah has received my squares...

Hannah, I don't know that these pictures are any better than those you took.

I have so enjoyed visiting and getting to know Hannah. I enjoyed stitching these autumn blocks for her.
Annemarie and Vonna, please sign me up for round two.

Received From Terry

I received my square from Terry today. I absolutely love it! She incorporated two of my most favorite things into it.....houses and trees! I am not sure who the designer is or if she combined a couple. I haven't decided what I will do with my pieces for sure, am going to wait until the end to see if they will fit together for a lap/wallhanging sized quilt or if I will be making smalls with them. Thanks again Terry I am very pleased with my first round of this group. I am excited now to see everyone else's pieces as they come in and to see who I get to stitch for on the next round. Didn't she do a great job?

My Squares from Peg

I received my beautiful squares from Peg yesterday (sorry a day late getting pictures). It is a very pretty drawn thread design which I absolutely love. It will have the first place in my book I am making out of my squares. Thank you peg for the lovely work you did on this. I am only placing the design picture in this blog because I am unsure whether to place the entire name and location of the individual in the blog. Peg, if y0u want me to, I will edit and add that piece also. The signature piece is stitched in a very pretty backstitch alphabet.. Thank you very much again, Peg, both pieces are absolutely beautiful and wonderfully stitched!!!

Received from Donna & mailing today

Yesterday the mailman delivered my first "Fair and Square". Isn't it adorable? No Donna "Liberty for Ewe" is not cutsey - but very cute. I love it!!!! Thank you so very much for stitching this square for me.

After giving it a lot of thought I have decided to try for the Friendship Quilt and this very first square will always have a very special place on it.

My exchange partner Donna blogs as DaisyGirl at: http://daisygirlstitching.blogspot.com/

Last night I finished your square Donna and will be mailing it this afternoon. It was fun stitching for you and I can only hope that I interpreted your likes/dislikes correctly.

Karen's Is Stitched!!

I put the final stitches into Karen's Fair & Square pieces tonight, and can't wait to get them mailed to her!

I have to admit I worried a little bit about our Schoolmarms, Mistresses Vonna and An, instructing us "do not be a stitch over 50 one way or another!!" I'm afraid I've broken that cardinal rule already!! GASP!! If they were near me, I have no doubts they would smack my stitching hand with a ruler!! Thanks be to God, I cower away now, safe in my little closet.
Oh, how I counted. Let me assure you I did. But I couldn't resist one tiny extra little stitch. So, if nobody counts, maybe they won't detect my l tiny, bitty stitch too many on the left side. :[ It was a do-or-die stitch!!!
This yellow rose above is my humble token as a way of asking forgiveness, and in hopes that I may continue to stitch with the Fair & Squares. 'though, I suppose it could be said of a wretch like me that I'm not completely fair or square...:((
Love and hugs,
Deb/Lavender Rose
PS: Squares happily coming to your house soon, Karen!!! :))

Just wanted to send a quick post that my square for Terry is going in the mail tomorrow. I hope she likes what I chose to stitch for her. Once she has received it one of us will post a picture.

Can't wait to see who I get for the next round. :) This was a fun project for me.

Heidi ~ give me some ideas!!!

I see you like purples and greens and leave the block idea up to the stitcher BUT can you give me some more ideas ~ maybe tell me what kind of designers you like and I can go from there?! Thanks.

Tanya :)

Likes/Dislikes

Hello Everyone :)
This is just a general note...would you please check the side bar....if you don't see your name with your likes/dislikes, would you please e-mail me (pfeiffers6@sbcglobal.net) So that I can get them up. If you did this already somewhere on this blog and I missed it. I'm sorry, but there are so many posts now, it's hard for me to figure out who I have and who I don't so it would be quicker this way for me. Thanks in advance. I think I read on personal blogs this weekend that there are 2 or three of you ready to mail already! Whoo Hoo! Soon we'll have some lovely eye candy to snack on!
Hugs and have a great upcoming week!

Faith, Hope and Charity

I have no affilitation with this except to pass the word around. This was announced on board to which I belong. Enjoy the sampler if nothing else!

"Martina Dey of Wiehenburg Samplers has graciously designed a quaker sampler for my EGA group, Bay Area (TX) Renaissance Stitchers, to be used as a community outreach project for our chapter. She was gracious to donate the chart as was Vikki who donated the silks for the model to be stitched as well as a silk pack to be given as a gift when the chart debuted at the South Central Region's EGA seminar last evening. This project has been weeks in the making and we are really proud of it. The model was stitched on 30ct. Legacy coconut macaroon with Vikki Clayton's premium silks. The stitch count is 250w x 250h. The price of the chart is $10 (pdf. file) or $12 if mailed. To purchase the chart, please contact BARSofTEXAS@AOL.com Please send your ordering information to the email addy provided before sending your money. We are receiving payments for charts and don't know where to send them. Thanks!!!! (The charity is the March of Dimes)

Here is a photo of the stitched model which was personalized by our model stitcher. "

Looking For

I am making a pincushion for another group I am with and I am looking for something. I am posting here to see if anyone here might know where I could find what I am looking for or if they even exists. I have seen straight pins with decorative heads on them but I don't know where I saw them. I would like to find some with bugs of some sort on them. I don't need alot just maybe a half dozen. Any ideas if there is such a thing?

Addresses Sent!!!!!!!!

Hello ladies :)
I've just e-mailed everyone, the addresses of their partners. If you did not receive them via e-mail please let me know as soon as possible!!!!

Just a re-cap as we have some confusion. IF you want to state likes/dislikes please leave a note here on the blog. I simply "cut and paste" what you write and put it in the side bar under your name.

If you have a blog, please give me that information and I will make it available in the sidebar.
Some of our participants do not have blogs. Please contact them via e-mail so that you can figure out likes/dislikes if you want to do that.

Remember that you are partners and in the idea of "Exchanging Friendship Squares" you are stitching for your partner or new friend. (i.e. Annemarie paired people in about 5 posts down... there is a list if it says: Lou and Belle then Lou stitches a square for Belle and sends it to her; while Belle stitches a square for Lou and sends it to her.)

Mailing Dates for this first round is: July 13, 2007; you may mail anytime between now and then however all squares MUST BE POSTED BY OR ON JULY 13, 2007!!!

Sign ups for ROUND #2 will be taken as listed in the side bar under Exchange Round Dates.

If there are any further questions please e-mail me at pfeiffers6@sbcglobal.net

REMEMBER: I just sent the addresses of partners to your e-mail address, if I gotten your address wrong, your name spelled wrong, the wrong partner from what is listed on Annemarie's post. PLEASE E-MAIL ME A.S.A.P.

Thanks for understanding that this is a learning curve. I think there has been relatively few problems, and that everyone should have their partners name, address, e-mail address by this time. If not CONTACT ME!
Thanks so much! I'm already stitching my square...what about you? I think Donna is nearly finished and close to mailing....anyone else?
Best wishes and hugs, from me to you :)
Vonna

Hi from Carol

Hi Everyone,
I feel a bit lost. I got the name of who I am to send to, and was under the impression it was a secret. Also, I cannot find a blog for her, nor did I receive the name of who sends to me... So, whoever you are... I love almost everything with the sole exception of very country and very cutesy/cartoony designs... I am so easy to please!!
I am looking forward to this exchange - if you, my sender, want to know more about me, please visit my blog:
Garden of Stitches

OK... hoping to learn more soon!

Hi Daisygirl & all F&S friends

After a long weekend at a convention it was such fun to come home last night and see who my exchange partner is. It's so nice to meet you Donna and I am looking forward to this fun stitching project.

You asked for some ideas and I am happy to give you some but PLEASE KNOW THAT I WILL LOVE ANYTHING YOU STITCH FOR ME. Just the thought of someone taking the time and effort is special enough.

So here are a few ideas - I love houses and house related things (think gardens, cats, etc), samplers, Quaker-designs. Designs by 'Just Nan', 'Blackbird Designs', 'Country Cottage Needleworks', 'The Prairie Schooler' and 'The Drawn Thread' are among my favorites. After seeing Annemarie's hint about a friendship quilt I think that is what I will be making. Imagine how wonderful this will look after I've exchanged with all of you. Like many other F&S exchangers I'm really not too keen on cartoons or cutsie things and very bright colors.

I hope this helps and can only add "If you enjoy making it I'm sure I'll love it!!"

Open 'letter' to Wendy :)

Hi Wendy...and all,

I am simple gal. Please stitch for me anything you fancy. And with designs you have on hand, don't go stashing on my account although that is always a good excuse! ;)

Anything stitched from one's heart and through one's hand is way too good for me!

I'll most likey finish it into a pinkeep, flatfold or a quilted ornament.

Greetings from MN - Cathy B

I'm so looking forward to participating in this exchange! I got my partner's name and will be plotting out my square soon.

Thought I'd take this opportunity to share some info about what I like/dislike. My favorite designers are Little House Needleworks, Blackbird Designs, Birds of a Feather, Homespun Elegance, etc; that should give you some idea of what I like. I also like earthy tones - greens, tans, burgundy, etc. vs bright or pastel colors (although I must admit that some of the Country Cottage Needlework designs using pastel threads do appeal to me!) I don't like cartoonish designs or dragons; I'm more of a sampler kind of girl!

The best way to get a taste for who I am is to visit my blog. Please do stop by!

Wendy's Likes

Hi All~
How exciting to be a part of this great group! I'm really looking forwards to our first exchange and now that our first partners have been assigned, I thought I better get some info out as to my likes/dislikes.

Hmmm, I'm probably very similar in taste to what everyone else has posted, I'm not overly fond of cartoon-y designs, or really bright colours, I prefer earth-tones, but I do love blue's also. I'm a big fan of Prairie Schooler, Carriage House Samplings, Blackbird Designs, Quaker-styles, alphabets, verses.

I am still undecided about what I will do with my squares, although I will probably end up making them into a quilted wallhanging or small quilt. I hope this helps!

My blog is: http://wendyhomeatwork.blogspot.com/
