I mailed my squares to Deb today! I'm going to have to pass on round 3 due to a busy schedule, but I'll be back for more in the future... this was fun :)

I loved making this little beehive square for Staci. It is a Shepherd’s Bush freebie, Bee Happy. I lightened up the colors using GAST (it called for GAST Shaker threads, but they were much darker colors).

I've received my squares from Sue

I got my squares from Sue today and let me just say, they are gorgeous!!!

It's a freebie pattern from Shepherd's Bush and Sue substituted threads and colors for a 'summery' look. I love it! I think she may be psychic because I not only like Shepherd's Bush, but I love bees too! Sue's friend Julie will be posting pics later and I can't wait for everyone to see how lovely they are!

Sue was also sweet to send two coordinating fabrics and ribbon that I'm going to use with the finishing :)

I made one change to the pattern. I added some spice by using some specialty stitches. I satined stitched the bookbag and Smyrna (sp?) stitched the leaves on the tree :-) Oh the pattern is Brightneedle's Season Petites.

Now I send away my blocks to Heidi.I have had a great time choosing pattern,colours and doing the embroidery on a wonderful linen fabric(32ct).For me this is the first swap on Fair and Square and I hope I can do it once again later this year.Tomorrow I start working after a long vacation and therefore I have to see which swap I can participate in.

Posting Squares and other Business Matters

Hello All!
After seeing other blogs with many authors, I've realized that we've never set any guidelines about posting. So when you post your squares, please put in the labels line your name, stitcher's name and which Round it is.
So for example, My partner is Ernie for this round. I receive Ernie's squares, what I would do is:

1. Write my post about receiving my squares; with a picture of said squares
2. Label my post on the label line with: Vonna, Ernie, Round 2
3. Publish

This will make it all easy for us when we get to round 50 (ha, ha, ha....) to be able to pick our names or rounds and see all the lovely squares we received.

**If you are unfamiliar with posting to this blog, or uploading pictures, or cannot upload pictures, please ask your "partner" to post pictures for you when possible, so that we can all see what we've stitched.

And just one little more bit of business, please make sure that I am aware and your partner is aware of e-mail changes, address changes, etc. I know we've had several people move or in the process of moving and we need to keep everyone informed so that we can receive from each other without any problems. Many thanks...we're getting within 3 weeks of deadlines..and I for one know I NEED to get stitching! Hugs to all!

Picked out my pattern

Okay, I feel a little bit less stressed Marie!! I have picked out the pattern I want to stitch for you, based on your tastes.
I can't beleive that Marie and I have pretty much identical tastes, good huswife, carriage house samplings, etc!! So this is easy, finding something in my stash for stitching. I have the floss and pattern, the linen is going to get serged sometime today or tomorrow. I am excited to get this going.
The unfortunate part is that I have to go to work now.....

Hi Sandy,

Just to let you know that your squares will be sent mid-September. I apologize upfront that they won't be mailed by 9/7 but we are in the process of moving and honestly, it isn't feasible to get yours finished and mailed ontime for this round. I hope you understand.

Yes...Marie is correct!! She is WAAAAY ahead!

Aren't they beautiful!!!!!!!!! I received them Friday, but they got "lost" until yesterday when I finally opened them! She went them with a lovely postcard from Vermont, where she doesn't realize we used to live! Anywho, I am feeling rather behind now, as I haven't decided what I am even stitching yet!! Story of my life....so Marie, be patient, you won't be recieving your squares this week!! LOL!!!

Thanks so much, they are lovely! And if you can't see in the pictures, she did her name one over one!! I am impressed....so impressed.
