Last night, I finished Vonna's squares from Round 2 into a cube. I love how it turned out! It goes perfectly with Julie's squares, too.

Finished Squares from Julie (Round 1)

I finished my squares from Julie about a month and a half ago. I hadn't been able to post a picture due to my mom having some health issues.

I chose to finish Julie's squares into a cube. I love this finishing technique. It was my first time, but I plan on many more!

Squares from Vonna

I'm just a little slow in posting the squares I received from Vonna. She stitched LHN's Pumpkins for me.

There's a funny story behind the squares. Vonna mailed her squares to me on the same day that I posted LHN's Pumpkins on my blog that I had already stitched :) Vonna offered to stitch something else, but I don't mind having two of the same pattern. I want to use the square I stitched for a quilt and use Vonna's for a cube. But anyway, here are her squares...!

Vonna also sent a pretty post card from Indiana, my first set of Piecemakers needles, and some floss from Sparklies in a pumpkiny color! (Thanks again, Vonna!) I hope to post a picture of the finished squares soon :)

Another Move!! :(

I am posting this here so that we dont' have a package go missing like we almost had with the last round. My daughter has recovered from her accident enough that I no longer have to live with her and her family. YEAH! I love my daughter and her family but I need my own space. This past 2 months has been trying for all of us, my grandson who gave up his room so grandma could have a room, to my SIL for putting up with me being a "clean freak" and letting me yell at the kids and him to keep things picked up and most of all to my daughter for letting me take over her house and torturing (LOL) her with her therapy. So anyway I have bought a small 2 bedroom condo nearby and will be moving in the next week or 2. So please wait until I can email coordinators and my current partner my new and permanent address.

I am so happy that when I moved and didn't get a forwarding address in that the package was returned to Cheryl and she was able to mail them off to me a second time. They truely were worth the wait. LIKES: Primitive-type designs, such as those by Carriage House Samplings, Prairie Schooler, The Workbasket, La-D-Da, and Brightneedle. I love birds and trees, earthy colors, and samplers (among other things).

DISLIKES: Folksy (cutesy/cartoonish) as in Jeremiah Junction and Diane Graebner, religious themes, pastels.

USE for the received squares: It depends on how many rounds I participate in. If there are only a few, I'll finish them individually as smalls and disply on my Wall of Smalls. If there are more, I'll either make a mini-quilt to hang or a "book" to display. :)

Fast and Furious

Hello Ladies!
Blocks are being posted and received fast and furious now! Thanks for everyone's attention to detail :) I know that some block partners are not mailing until the beginning of next week. That's fine, just please keep each other informed. That is another reason why we have a 2 week time period in between each round so blocks can be received and everything set straight before the next round begins (in case you were wondering)!

Please if possible remember to post your name and your partner's name and which round number on the posts of sending and receiving..it makes it easier for me to track what's going on.

Again, I'm taking sign ups until whatever the date says on the side bar for Round #3. The round will close a couple of days before I send names, so if you want to be in the round and I haven't gotten your name in the sidebar...let me know. I'm human and sometimes, I miss things....if your name is on the sidebar for Round #3 and you don't want it to be let me know that too! If you want to lay out a round or two or four...no problem! I'll keep you as members and you just alert me when you want to jump back in for a round ;0)

Brenda's square arrived on Tuesday. When we first started conversing about our squares we realized that we had very similar stitching interests. It's really true - we both stitched a house in our designs for each other! Brenda's square for me features a design from Little House Needleworks. She also included the pattern for The Rose Sampler (LHN) and some DMS fibers. Thanks so much Brenda - it was really a treat to get to know you!

Well, my blocks for Julie were posted at lunchtime today. Julie - I really hope you like them!

I'm not going to sign up for round 3 as I've not been feeling so well over the last few weeks and I think I'm going to be a bit preoccupied with that for a bit longer, so I'm dropping out of the exchange for now.

Hello, Ladies! I'm Sonda from Oregon. I have been cross-stitching non-stop for about 3 years although I actually started about 12 years ago. (Had to put things away for awhile when I started having kids until all the little hands were old enough to stop touching... ;) ) This year, I joined some charity stitching groups and I've stitched a few squares for Love Quilts, Quilts 4 Kids, Quilts 4 Older Children, and a Cross-Stitching for Charity yahoo group. That has been very rewarding. I have many projects in the rotation and millions more I'd like to do, although recently I've been on an ornament kick. This sounds like a fun exchange, and I look forward to participating. A few good surprises in life are always welcome.

Mailing Square--Cheryl

I just finished the last stitch in my name square tonight. Will be ironing them and putting them in the mail to you tomorrow. Hope they arrive quickly, as I am so close to the end with my mailing.

My daughter's rehab after her accident is coming along nicely...looking like a full recovery and she will be able to walk again with out a cane or a walker. So happy that it's turning out that way. She was the reason for my quick move from Wisconsin to Missouri, got everything packed, banks and credit cards notified and off I went. It's nice being here to help her family as I get to see my grandsons everyday now.
