I was just posting to let Suzanne S know that I had sent my squares a few weeks ago but just got an email to say she received them and now see a lovely little pic below!! thanks suzane for being a great earth day partner and glad you like your goodies - keep in touch.
Also to Cathy B my Round 6 partner - your squares have not arrived yet but I will email the minute they do!! can't wait. Yours are on their way but if my Earth Day squares are any indication the mail from the Land of Oz is being sent by slow snail mail. Earth Day Squares Received

Sharon B, I received my squares! And you couldn't have picked a better pattern! I love it! The design is Blackbird Design's Savoir faire. I didn't even know Blackbird Designs until about a year ago and I love them! Sharon was generous enough to send me the actual pattern that she stitched the squares from and some beautiful ribbon to finish it. And honestly, Sharon, the little note card thrilled me! I just recently finished my bedroom in the that shade of blue & white! I also received a cute little kit from Australia and a postcard of a laughing kookaburra. Being that I'm in love with Australia, and never been there, it was great to get a little piece of Sharon's country! Thank you, Sharon, for everything! I am so thrilled with everything! And coming home to a little surprise is exciting! Coming home to a surprise is so exciting! I defnitley will be part of more rounds!

Hello Fair and Square Members...

I have a couple of "reminders" that I would like to share with you....now I'm not trying to be harrassing - and a BIG thank you to all of you that actually do this, but I still have some members that do not do this and it is making my life difficult. If you belong to ANY other board (or at least one that is ran well!) you are asked to do simple things to help the moderators.

For instance:
POSTING to the board when you mail your exchange
POSTING to the board when you receive your exchange
POSTING a picture to the board of your received exchange

I do not believe this is too much to ask...if it is, then perhaps you need to find another exchange. I understand that some of you e-mail each other...and that is great, super, wonderful - please continue to do that. Some of you e-mail me - which is super too and if I'm not in the middle of a catastrophe (which seems to be happening at an alarming rate at my house of late) then I go directly to the board and do whatever you told me to do in the e-mail. The only thing I ask is that you do the above 3 things when you mail and receive exchanges on this board. And again I reiterate a large percentage is doing that. But also there is a pretty hefty number of you that continue to not do anything regarding this issue and in some instances just by-pass anything that I've set up in the rules. That is not fair to me....and believe me a large number of minutes and in some cases around Round time hours are put into this board. I do things every day for members of this board - whether it is signing up, tracking squares, taking people out of rounds if needed, putting them back in if needed, changing profiles, etc. etc. And I'm really not complaining about that - because this is a wonderful board with many, many, talented ladies. But this issue of tracking squares is really hard....especially when we have 60+ people exchanging every round.

Look at it this way your posting to this board...is a record of what you did as a member and partner on this exchange. I like receipts myself...always good to have receipts...think of it as a receipt.

Thank YOU all for your attention to this matter....and if you would care to read the directions, which I ask you to do upon membership to this board....they STATE this very thing in them clearly. And you can go to the "labels" list in the sidebar and click on "business" to refresh yourself on a lot of common issues. This same issue is in there at least 3 or 4 times.

Today I have got a surprise delivered by the door. It was an envelope with the squares from Staci. It is a beautiful spring design. Staci also sent a range of amazing variegated flosses along with a gorgeous tin. Thank you very much Staci, your package came in the right time...I am leaving for a small trip to the mountains in the afternoon and will be back on Saturday.

I Love My New Stitching Friend Tuula!!!

When I got home from work today, I had a beautiful package in the mail from Tuula. And I do mean beautiful package!
I had to take a picture of the envelope, it is so beautiful.




Inside were my fair squares. Tuula stitched a peacock which is a small part from Long Dog Samplers "Virtue" with DMC threads.

It's kind of funny that Tuula and I should be paired up. We learned that we have the same likes. Tuula said that when she was reading my blog she kept thinking that she was reading about herself.

One thing is that we both collect thimbles. She sent me a thimble that is made from genuine reindeer bone from Lapland. She also sent me a personalized keyring that is made of tiny Lapland trees. These are both very cool! The pictures are not going to do any of these things justice. I also got a piece of banding and 2 beautiful skeins of thread.

KarenD's squares for me!

I was spoiled today! Not only did I get lovely squares from Karen, but look at everything else she sent me! Some gorgeous Silkweavers fabric, a really neat LHN pattern: Moon and Stars, great backing fabric, a neato plastic card holder that I had been obsessing over (how did she know that?) and some great WDW thread. Plus a magnet and a postcard that immediately was claimed by my ten year old for his postcard collection!

On the back of WDW I read their address as Raleigh Rd in Fuquay-Varina, NC. I mapquested the address and it is less than TWO BLOCKS from where I live?! Seriously! They must have moved, because I would have noticed before hand if they lived in my bitty town of Fuquay! :) So I got thread from Arizona, that was probably made right behind my house! I'm going to do a drive-by tomorrow!:)

I'll have a few days before I go back to work so I'm planning on have a finishing marathon when I return from my trip...... I've already got a technique picked out :) The pattern is called "Thanks a Bunch" by Just Nan.

....arrived last week, I let Amy know at once, it´s just my cam which doesn´t work till today;-))
Here is what I got and all these things are soooo beautiful;-) We also traded for a German cross stitch book Amy wants;-)
Aren´t the squares great? It´s a funny thing, Amy and I mailed a bit about what to stitch and I told her I would love to have something with coffee, I thought about a design by LHN but I never talked to Amy about it...and look what she stitched;-))) A LHN coffee design...I also got the cutest little needleroll you have ever seen...it´s finished as a scissor fob;-))) My mom visited me today and she asked for a piece of fabric to start the same thing at once because she couldn´t resist;-))) And I will do one too as soon as...well, another idea to add to my brain....I have already made an ideas book where I add all my new id
I also got a package with sewing charms, beading needles and 4 charts, three from CCN and a Plumpudding heart I´ve seen on Amys blog;-))
So thank you to Amy for all these nice and thoughtful gifts.....and I can´t wait for her to get my squares because I like them too;-)))

Thank you so much Mary Kathryn for my beautiful bird squares. They were absolutely perfect for me. The yellow finches have just returned to my backyard feeders. Just want to say I love these squares! I finally got them today :) I actually get to post twice in one day! I have had a very lovely weekend, and what a wonderful way to top it off! Melissa C. stitched me some spring bunny squares recently, and I wanted to post the pinkeep which I made today! I received a wonderful package from Annette today and I am truly thrilled! Annette selected a design from one of my favorite designers, Blackbird Design. She stitched a portion of the Moonlit Garden design using Weeks Dye Work floss...the colors are perfect! I was also treated to a great Doodles design, "Home Sweet Home" as well as some gorgeous Crescent Colours to get me started on this project! I have received these lovely round 6 squares from Terry P. She saw that I liked LHN designs and so stitched the tree from the Willow Tree Inn. I also have a liking for Swaledale sheep, a black faced breed from The Yorkshire Dales in Northern England, and as I also love blackbirds this design was very appropriate. Terry also included some pretty ribbons and threads. Thank you very much Terry. This was my first round and I've really enjoyed taking part in this exchange.

Hello, I am also new here.

I am a 56 years old German and have been stitching a long time ago. Than I stopped for about 20 years but since 5 years I am totally hooked again.
Due to my job I moved last month from Würzburg to Heidelberg, Germany.
My friend Sabine R. told me about Fair and Square and today I could not longer resist. The squares everybody is doing here are just too beautiful to stay away. Plus, this seems like a very nice group of people. I am very happy to be here.

Hi, all! I'm new here and new to blogging. I'm Diane. I am 46 and have a beautiful 19 year old daughter, as well as a 10 year old son who has recently expressed an interest in learning to stitch (!). I also have a husband but I am currently trying to remedy that situation. We have three cats, two dogs, and a lizard. I sell insurance, but please don't hold that against me - it helps support the cross stitch addiction! ;oP

I learned to do needlepoint from my mother and grandmother as a child, and took up cross stitch as a teenager. I took a very long break (10 years or so) after my best friend and stitchy buddy passed away. I started picking up those little Stitch and Hang Christmas ornament kits a few Christmases ago, then Subversive Cross Stitch two summers ago, and the addiction gradually started coming back. When I stumbled upon the blogging community, I was completely done for! :o)

I see that lots of new F&S exchangers are introducing themselves, so I'm hopping on the bandwagon (late as usual). I blog as Anna on Stitch Bitch and this August will be my 5th blogiversary! I've been married to the dude for almost seven years now; we have no children. I work as a development writer in Philadelphia. I'm late to the exchange party because I have four round robins being held hostage in Utah, in addition to one that went missing before there were blogs or even a yahoo. So my experiences so far are a little negative. I know this group will change all that!

Guess I oughta introduce myself, too...

Howdy! I'm Kendra from western Kentucky. I've been married for almost 7 years and we have 2 daughters, 17½ months and 5 years. Even though I've been doing the stitching-blogging thing for a couple years now, I'm just now venturing into exchanges. I've been seeing and reading about all the pretty squares from this group for awhile now, so I decided to take the plunge and sign up...my first round is the 4th of July round.

I've been stitching ever since I was in grade school - I probably learned my first x's when I was 8 or 9 years old, watching my Mom and Granma doing their stitching. I took a break due to life events - school, college, career, etc. - but got back into stitching in 2002 and have been going strong ever since.

I'm looking forward to getting involved with this group!

Hi...I'm new here as well! My name is Lynda and I am a 57 year old librarian. living in Oregon. My hubby and I will be married 32 years next month, we have 2 grown daughters...one lives here in Portland, the other lives in Boston. We are also expecting our first grandchild in August! Dear Everyone - finally here are the pictures for Round 6 Squares received from Annemeik. How gorgeous is the design she did? I loved the blue thread as it is my favourite colour along with the accompanying design chart and also the beautiful french button postcards which are just lovely and have a special position on my sewing room wall so that I can admire them. thank you for a lovely exchange Annemeik and I hope to remain email friends as I enjoyed talking with you.

Today I received my squares from Liz. They are wonderfull!!! Thank you so much Liz.

She also spoiled me with some autumn fabric, a nice note pad, two pieces of delicious chocolate and a postcard from California. For Liz it was her first exchange, I think she did a great job!!
