This is a very late post, but I have had quite a busy month. I received these squares from Nicky on the 10th of August. They are from LHN, the pattern is Strawberry house. I have been meaning to stitch this design for myself and now I have it. I hope to get these finished into a pin keep real soon. Thank you Nicky.

The Holiday Round ~ HALLOWEEN 2009 is open starting Friday, July 31st. Sign ups will be taken through August 28th. The Round will run from August 31st - October 12th. Squares must be mailed by October 12th.

I received my squares this past week from Jeanie C. They came all the way from Singapore and they are beautiful! I love them! Thank you Jeanie. I will have to borrow a camera from my daughter to post a picture since mine was taken when my home was broken into in June and I haven't replaced it yet....don't know what's a good one to have for posting pictures online. Jeanie if you could post a picture that would be okay too. Has mine arrived in Singapore yet?

4th of July Squares

I don't see that Beth posted the squares I made for her for the 4th of July round so I'm going to do so now. I'm sorry the pic isn't better than it is. I should have scanned them. In any case, here they are. The starbursts came from a portion of a Calico Crossroads pattern and were stitched with Kreinik metallics. The wording was done with some WDW & GAST overdyeds.

Round 14 Received

I was on vacation all week and arrived home last night to find this in my mail. I was delighted to find this design done in redwork (my favorite color!) What a great package to find after being weary from all the travel. It is actually a freebie design I was contemplating to stitch. Pokua, thank you so much for a beautiful piece.

Summer Round Received

I was touched by the thought process that Karen R. from Australia put into stitching this piece for me. She researched through my blog and noted that I had received the winter version of this design (Winter Cardinal) from a previous F&S exchange. She then stitched "Summer Sparrow" for me from Waxing Moon. I was tickled to receive this. Thanks so much, sweet Karen.

I received a truly lovely set of squares from Renee K for Round 14. Couldn't bear to put them away and finished them into a pinkeep which has proudly joined my basket of smalls. Thank you , Renee - you made my day! You can see my growing basket of smalls on my blog.

Summer round for April

April posted that she received the squares I sent to her, but mentioned she has out of town guests and hasn't had time to post a pic. She said I could feel free to post a picture of the squares I sent to her, so here it is:



As I mentioned in the note I sent to April, I realize these squares would have fit for the patriotic exchange as well. When I think of summer though, I always think of the patriotic summer holidays of Memorial Day and Independence Day. So, stitching this patriotic Quaker heart freebie design by Aury was perfect for me. I stitched them using Belle Soie silk.
