Round 26 Squares from Marcy

This post comes a little late, I know. But here is finally the picture of the beautiful squares I received from Marcy in Round 26. The design is from Blackbird Design, one of my favourite Designers and Marcy tea-dyed the fabric  before stitching. I truly love how the design and fabrics fits together. Thank you so much Marcy.

Lynda A., you are causing me fits!!!!!!

Dearest Lynda -- what are you trying to do-- drive me crazy???!

Do you know how many floss tosses I "settled" on for you squares (so far)???? FOUR! Honest to pete. 4. You should see my poor pattern -- it's a scribbly mess of revisions and arrows pointing in new directions to new color choices. Sheesh. Oh and in between toss 3 and toss 4 I dropped my box of bobbins (open and upside down, of course). That was a real joy!

Aside from the fact that my pattern looks like a bad 3rd grade essay after a grumpy teacher has gotten ahold of it), I have another problem -- this weekend Emma Bull (who is you don't know is an American fantasy author) complimented the first of your squares. The last time an author complimented something I was stitching, the designated recipient never got the piece. I don't know. It could be a near thing. (hee heeee)

happy stitching,
ruth

I love these squares, the colors Pam stitched with are wonderful and I am looking forward to finishing this as an ornament and finding the perfect Halloween branch to hang it from.

YOWSER!!!!!!!!!

Ruth's squares flew through Nebraska and safely landed in Pittsburgh. And just look at them! Remember the floss toss she did - turned into these lovely lighthouses and Quaker waters - two things I am really really like. Her stitching over one is wonderful and she put so much thought into how to incorporate the Quaker motifs and then 2 lighthouses. Pt Loma is Ruth's favorite and a west coast beauty. Erie is the closest one to me - and Ruth correctly researched that. How lucky am I to receive these squares. Now I need to do justice to the finishing. Thank you again Ruth for sharing your imagination and skills.

Round 26 squares received from Daniela T

I received these great squares from Daniela T. Thank You! It made me smile seeing something in the mail other than a bill or an ad - lol.

I l o v e them. The colors are delightful (I especially like the pinks), the flower is so funky and cool, the border around the signature reminds me of a theater marquee -- all-in-all -- a really fun set of squares. Many thanks, Daniela!

Round 26 - Squares from Nancy K!

Thank you, Nancy!! What a lovely surprise to find this lovely Celtic design stitched in such a beautiful silk thread in the big pile of mail picked up after a long weekend away. The delectable shades of autumn are much deeper and richer in person. I'm sure we'll all want to know the name of this new silk thread when you have a second, Nancy, if you please.

My beautiful squares from Pam K.

I came home a wonderful package - my squares from Pam. Pam, your presentation is so beautiful, showing a care for your stitching that I hope to begin using in my future exchanges. They were sent perfectly flat, wrapped in tissue paper and protected inside a plastic page protector. My squares are a wonderful collection of Halloween motifs, in the most beautiful colors. I want to take pictures in the daylight, to show the great colors you used, so I will post this weekend.

I apologize also, because I missed the 10/3 deadline, and put your squares in the mail yesterday. I am so sorry to be mailing late, I was not watching the calendar as I should have been.

squares sent & received

I have received these beautiful squares from Elaine. They are a design from The Gift of Stitching magazine and are just beautiful! The colors are so pretty! Thanks you so much!

I have also sent my squares out to Elaine this morning. Sorry they are a few days late getting out.

Thanks again Elaine! I hope you enjoy your squares as much as I am enjoying mine.

hugs, lynda

Round #26 Received from Marie W.

Yesterday, I received my squares from Marie. They are lovely...peacocks...purple...so me!

They are very stunning! Marie says this is from a charted folk designs book by Dover. They are lovely and I love the thread choice too! Thank you Marie.

Round #26 from Jill F.

Yesterday I received these squares from Jill F. She stitched me JBW's "French Country Apple," so that is now crossed off of my wish list. I can't wait to make these into something. The red is a soft shade and complements the linen.

Thank you, Jill!

Nancy K, your squares are in the mail!

My son borrowed our camera to take on a family vacation. After many reminders it was returned. Note to self: No more camera loaning! :) I took a pic and popped them in the mail this morning. This is my first exchange and I admit I'm a bit nervous...

Round #26 Participants

All squares are to be sent by today, October 3. If you have already sent yours, great.

Please remember to post when you send and when you receive.

Thanks,
Jill
