KarenD's squares for me!

I was spoiled today! Not only did I get lovely squares from Karen, but look at everything else she sent me! Some gorgeous Silkweavers fabric, a really neat LHN pattern: Moon and Stars, great backing fabric, a neato plastic card holder that I had been obsessing over (how did she know that?) and some great WDW thread. Plus a magnet and a postcard that immediately was claimed by my ten year old for his postcard collection!

On the back of WDW I read their address as Raleigh Rd in Fuquay-Varina, NC. I mapquested the address and it is less than TWO BLOCKS from where I live?! Seriously! They must have moved, because I would have noticed before hand if they lived in my bitty town of Fuquay! :) So I got thread from Arizona, that was probably made right behind my house! I'm going to do a drive-by tomorrow!:)

Thanks Karen!

I'm noticing the quilt! It looks beautiful! From what I can see, it looks like a Lonestar pattern? And hand pieced? Love it! The squares are beutiful too!

I always laugh when stitchers notice the quilt under my pictures!:) I'm embarrassed to say I don't know the name of the pattern, though Lonestar would make sense. It has one lone star (haha) in the center all made of little diamonds. The entire quilt is handsewn. I wish somebody who really "got" quilts could see it! The even stitches are absolutely amazing and it is so teeny! If I ever get all my stitching cleared off it, I"ll take a better picture!

It belonged to my grandma, and as long as I remember it was on the bed in her room. When all the siblings went through her things, my dad knew I loved it and picked it for me! It's my treasure that's for sure!

She lived in Pennsylvania, and had lots of Amish neighbors. I'm not sure who all stitched on it, but I'm almost positive she wasn't the only one, they used to have quilting bees a lot!

Thanks for noticing it! I'm proud of it!
