Halloween Squares received

I received my lovely Halloween squares from Pam on Tuesday. She used lambswool linen and Belle Soie and HDF silks (one day I'll have silks) and took parts from different designs to create this one. I don't know if you can see, but the pumpkins, bats and owl are stitched over one, they are so cute IRL!

Thank you so much for a lovely exchange Pam, it's beautiful!

My squares from Karen R!

My squares from Karen arrived on Saturday, but I'm just now posting a pic.  Sorry for the quality I had to use my phone.  Karen tells me she adapted "Waiting for the Harvest" by Blackbird Designs and used GAST Onyx on "dirty" linen.  I recently saw just the perfect quilt fabric to use when I finish these cuties...now I just have to remember which quilt shop...  Thanks so much, Karen, I love them!

Karen, I forgot to post that I sent your squares!

I'm so sorry, I did send your squares last Wednesday, but forgot to post here.  Hopefully they'll arrive soon and that you'll enjoy them as much as I enjoyed stitching them!

Fellow exchangers, I did write to let Karen know her squares would be late.  It was my own fault for not getting them in the mail right when I finished them, but then came Labor Day weekend (here in the U.S.) and the entire weekend was belabored (get it??) with problems.  Not one, but two of our dogs were bitten by a very crabby copperhead snake.  Both are finally getting better every day now.  I learned many lessons through all this one of which was to not procrastinate!

Round #29 Received from Pam

I received my squares from Pam K. today and they are beautiful!!!

Pam says the sampler is mostly by Madame Chantilly. The large peacocks are her adaptation of a Midsummer Night Design's peacock. The threads are HDF and the fabric is Cream Belfast. I LOVE THEM!!! Thank you Pam!

more finishes

This morning I felt a lot like sewing something. So I finished my remaining Fair & Square pieces into little pincushions.
Here is an updated picture of my Fair & Square basket. Soon I need to get a bigger one. The basket is the center piece of our dinner table and gets a lot of attention whenever we are having guest.
And these are the three pillows I made today:
from Linda B. in 2009

from Milly D. in 2011

from Pam K. in 2012

My squares from Jill

I see needlebook written all over these darling squares. They're from Blackbird Designs' Stitchers Journey and my photography skills don't do them justice. Thanks, Jill, they're lovely!

My lovely squares from Daniela!

I just love them! Without knowing of my fondness for (obsession with, some might say) buttons Daniela has given me the perfect opportunity to search for just the right button to put in the middle of this darling heart. I thoroughly enjoy digging through my buttons. :) I think these squares will make a wonderful pinkeep with pearl pins around the outside to go with the mother of pearl button. Thank you so much, Daniela!

my squares from Pam

here are the lovely squares Pam send me, during the 28th stitch red round. She designed them all herself and I think they look absolutely stunning. They will make a beautiful addition to my pin cushion basket.
Thank you so much for designing and stitching these for me. I love them.

Thank you, Shelley P!

Such delicate sampler squares ever so nicely embellished with beads that unfortunately don't show up well on the photos. Great stitching, Shelley and thanks again!

Received from Pam K

Here are the cute Bent Creek squares that Pam K stitched for me. Love them!
Pam, your stitching is beautiful! Thank you!

The stitch red for the heart round looks fun. I just found the prettiest Belle Soie that I am already planning on using for that round.

My beautiful squares from Pam K.

I love these squares, the colors Pam stitched with are wonderful and I am looking forward to finishing this as an ornament and finding the perfect Halloween branch to hang it from.

Round 26 - Squares from Nancy K!

Thank you, Nancy!! What a lovely surprise to find this lovely Celtic design stitched in such a beautiful silk thread in the big pile of mail picked up after a long weekend away. The delectable shades of autumn are much deeper and richer in person. I'm sure we'll all want to know the name of this new silk thread when you have a second, Nancy, if you please.

My beautiful squares from Pam K.

I came home a wonderful package - my squares from Pam. Pam, your presentation is so beautiful, showing a care for your stitching that I hope to begin using in my future exchanges. They were sent perfectly flat, wrapped in tissue paper and protected inside a plastic page protector. My squares are a wonderful collection of Halloween motifs, in the most beautiful colors. I want to take pictures in the daylight, to show the great colors you used, so I will post this weekend.

I apologize also, because I missed the 10/3 deadline, and put your squares in the mail yesterday. I am so sorry to be mailing late, I was not watching the calendar as I should have been.

Nancy K, your squares are in the mail!

My son borrowed our camera to take on a family vacation. After many reminders it was returned. Note to self: No more camera loaning! :) I took a pic and popped them in the mail this morning. This is my first exchange and I admit I'm a bit nervous...

Hello from a newbie!

I'm so happy be a part of Fair and Square! A bit of info about me...I've been stitching for about 30 years. I taught myself to stitch after I bought a kit of a single butterfly that was going to look just perfect in my bathroom. I was hooked from that point on! My husband and I retired to northwest Arkansas in 2005 from Wisconsin. Since then I've made wonderful stitching friends from all over the world thanks to having extra time and a speedy internet connection. I hope to make new friends here as well. Thanks for including me!

Edited to add that I'm Pam K...I believe I saw that there was more than one Pam. :)
