Catch up Post for Round 2 Square Received

Dug out my camera today after Vonna's "chastising" of us for not posting. Sorry Vonna.

My round 2 partner was Dani and these are the lovely squares that she sent to me. She also included pretty pink flosses!

Margaret's Squares

Blogger was being less than helpful in the last couple of days, making it impossible for Margaret to post a picture of the squares I stitched for her for Round 2. So now I'm posting them for her. Margaret wrote a little bit about the squares a couple of days ago.

Mail from Maastricht

Are others having problems uploading images. I have been trying for days to show you the lovely squares Annemarie stitched for me in Round 2 but Blogger refuses. Yes you are reading correctly - Round 2. Annemarie and I mailed our squares on the same day hoping they would also arrive on the same day, but I guess the US mail thought these were just too pretty and considered keeping them. Finally last Thursday someone decided to be kind and Annemarie's package was in our mailbox.

The squares are absolutely perfect from one Dutch person to another. The front is a Delft Blue tile of a tulip - what could be more Dutch? On the back Annemarie stitched not only her name, city and the year but decorated the corners with a pretty design of her own. Along with the squares she sent me one of her now famous floss rings with Wildflowers 'Firecracker' floss (red/white/blue - the colors of the Dutch flag) and the cutest card with a hilarious poem by Hans Kuyper. DH got quite a chuckle out of that too.

Thank you so much Annemarie. I thoroughly enjoyed stiching this exchange with you and know I have made a new friend. Someday we will meet in person and I am looking forward to that day.

I will keep on trying to post a picture in the coming days.

Finished Squares from Vonna (Round 2)

Last night, I finished Vonna's squares from Round 2 into a cube. I love how it turned out! It goes perfectly with Julie's squares, too.

Squares from Vonna

I'm just a little slow in posting the squares I received from Vonna. She stitched LHN's Pumpkins for me.

There's a funny story behind the squares. Vonna mailed her squares to me on the same day that I posted LHN's Pumpkins on my blog that I had already stitched :) Vonna offered to stitch something else, but I don't mind having two of the same pattern. I want to use the square I stitched for a quilt and use Vonna's for a cube. But anyway, here are her squares...!

Vonna also sent a pretty post card from Indiana, my first set of Piecemakers needles, and some floss from Sparklies in a pumpkiny color! (Thanks again, Vonna!) I hope to post a picture of the finished squares soon :)

Squares Received from Cheryl

I received my lovely squares from Cheryl this week. I am so happy that when I moved and didn't get a forwarding address in that the package was returned to Cheryl and she was able to mail them off to me a second time. They truely were worth the wait. Thank you so much Cheryl! I love them! Could you please post a picture of them as I can't find my camera in the storage shed.

WoooHooo! Deb's squares arrived in yesterday's mail. I just adore this mermaid... and with her seahorse friend and bluebirds, she's absolutely perfect. And she even has a pearl necklace; very neat :)

I'm planning to finish her off as something to hang here by my desk (maybe a hanging pinkeep?) Thanks so much, Deb!

Michele did GOOD didn't she!??!!?! I love what she chose for me... I love flowers & redwork!!! I received them a few days ago but just had not had time to post before today, I'm sorry! Michele, thank you so much for the squares and the other goodies, I appreciate it so much! I will see you in a few weeks, wooohooo!!! I am having to skip the next round because of my stitching retreat in a few weeks, but I will be back for the next one.

Received my squares from Dani!

The package was in my stack of mail when I returned from Celebration of Needlework on Monday evening. Had to turn around and leave on another business trip. Will open the package and post a pic this weekend. Nothing like keeping you all in suspense! LOL (Dani, feel free to post the pic if you wish)
