I've been thinking

which is always dangerous for me and I think I know now what I want to do with my squares. I have been working on the Sampler book (very slowly) by Erica Michaels and I think I would like to do something like that with my squares. I could make each persons I receive into a page (front and back) and then make a cute little cross stitch book out of all of them. Something I could have for a very long time and show people!! What do you think??? Here is a picture of the sampler book

Terry, that is a fabulous idea!!! Do you think the size of the fabric as written in the rules is large enough for this way of finishing?

I thought about it and if it isn't I will frame each page with fabric and then make the page, I am very flexible and will make it work out!!! I can't wait to be able to show off the beautiful work all of you do!!

That is a super idea! How does this book go together? I am not familiar with the book.

I love that idea! Cool beans! I probably won't be as dedicated to make mine into a book. I'm too lazy.

Karen, it is kinda hard to explain (and I am terrible at explaining this way, better at showing). In Erica's instructions each page (back and front) are one piece of fabric and you fold it over to make the page (two designs, one on front, one back). For mine for this exchange, I will put the name & addy on the left side of the book and the design on the front of right side, that way the name is directly across from the design stitched. I will "sew" together the pages since each piece is separate, I have an idea for a cute edging (we will see how it works). The Alphabet sampler book is really cute and if interested it is well worth the price to buy the instruction chart. It has all 26 alphabet letters and all instructions in it. You can also get the alphabet letters as freebies on the Rainbow Gallery Website.

I think I understand. That is a really great way to put these together. I will look forward to seeing it progress. Have a great weekend!

Great Idea! I stitched a page for a Quaker booklet by With My Needle in a RR I am in. I am wondering bassed on that booklet if the 5x5 size of our squares would be too big? Maybe if you added something to "firm or stiffen" the pages up a bit it would work.

This is a lovely idea! I've been thinking too and think I might make my squares into a crazy quilt wall hanging.
