Hello everybody. I have just joined up and can't wait for round #6 to start. Your entries are inspiring although as I look at some of the pictures I laugh at the abundance of winter designs as we are mid summer here in New Zealand with blue sky, beaches and an abundance of flowers. Hannah's fabulous squares are here!

I received my F & S squares from Hannah and they are truly fabulous! She used a winter wonderland design from Bent Creek ~ I absolutely love it. She also included some great extras, including two Workbasket patterns that I am SO anxious to stitch! Thanks so very much Hannah. Because I am still in VT I am unable to post pictures, but promise to do so when I arrive home early next week.

Hi! I finally got the pics uploaded to the computer, sorry it took so long. Here is the lovely package and squares i rec'd from Pam E. I LOVE the colors of the thread she used, it is perfect for me. I think i may make this into a biscournu, but not sure yet. There is also 4 small pieces of backing fabric, needlebook, pins, a couple bookmarks to stitch, a butterfly to stitch, notecards and a bellpull hanger.

Squares from Mercy!

Today I received my first exchange squares - fun, fun, fun:-)!

Mercy has stitched me the cutest little snowman square and also sent along a perfectly matching fabric. I think it will make a really nice Christmas ornament!!

She also sent a redwork kit from JBW designs which I think is lovely and can´t wait to stitch. Thanks for the nice exchange Mercy!

What a fun mail day - I received my fair squares all the way from Australia. They are so pretty Georgie and stitched in one of my very favorite colors. The sparkle from the beads is such a neat effect.

Georgie also sent two postcards one of which (the bottom one on the image) shows where she lives, some lovely pink floss and Rose and Carnation Bath Melts which smells wonderful.

Help me help myself....

Ladies,
I think everyone has had time to peruse their information and make sure they've gotten it and all is well.....I have a couple of things I need your help with.

I'm human and I make mistakes, I had 38 e-mails in my in box this a.m. upon my awaking....which that's great, they were all things that I needed to change and modify, as I had typos in addresses, etc. So PLEASE check your partner information and make sure YOUR address and e-mail is correct, mailing to 66 people is a chore and keeping track of 97 people's addresses and e-mails is a part-time job.

Also apparently I didn't add a few people to Round #5 and they wanted to join. I've taken care of them also, and all are participating now, but there again PLEASE when I post to this board and say "check the list to make sure your name is there if you want it there or not there if you don't want it there", please do check....again, I miss things, I'm human and many times, if someone posts to the board about sign me up...if you check the comment and I haven't posted Done or did it or check it or whatever...you need to make sure your name is on the list and if it is not in a day or two let me know again!

Finally, we have A LOT of people with the same (or derivatives of) the first name. We have duplicate Melissa's, Mel's, Malinda's, Laura's, Dani's, Danica's, Danielle's, Margaret's, Chris's, I can go on, but you get the hint. I've tried to post everyone with their ending Initial or "handle" for instance, Amy W. goes by AmySC, that's what she always signs her posts with, etc. So, when someone signs their post Jane - I don't know which "Jane" is posting and I try to go through and figure it out, but I think that I'm getting people mixed up. The handful of people that I didn't get signed up correctly was that I signed someone else up because they had the same first name. So can everyone please start posting as Jane D. if your name is Jane Doe. This would help me out a lot in knowing whom I'm addressing. I want us all to have fun with this or I wouldn't do it any longer, so let's all use the golden rule, "do unto others as you would have done to you". I feel that I've been more than generous and gracious with everyone, please give me a break.

A parcel all the way from Australia...

It was a wonderful mailday again. Karen stitched me these beautiful squares in the Fair and Square-exchange and they look just like me... Purple colour and kitchen motive! You have read my blog real carefully, Karen! I love the goodies too; a card made with the punch-needle technique, some silk-yarn and a piece of fabric which I knew directly where to use. Gotta to do some research, but I *think* they're all Australian animals - see those big Emus in the center, and I've heard that there's lots of sheep in Australia . I'm not sure what kind of birds those brown & red ones are, but that's a good google project for tommorow :-)

LOVE my new Fair and Square Partner

Hello all,

I just needed to post about my Round 5 partner.

My daughter decided to join the Fair and Square Exchange
after she heard about it from me when I had joined the last
round. So out of 64 people what do you think the chance would
be that we would end up partners? Well it happened!!!! I couldn't
believe it. Especially after my friend Jill, another exchanger had
just said how funny it would be if we would get picked to be partners.

So after talking to my daughter, we have decided that we are going
to keep our partners.

Here we go ladies...my daughter has pulled the names, and I've assigned partners...over the next couple of days, I'll get e-mails out to you all...in the meantime you can research your partner by looking through their likes/dislikes found in the Member Profiles (link in the side bar).

Also let's review the rules quickly: Please mail on time, if problems arise keep your partner and myself (Vonna) updated, make friends!, stitch things that people want to receive, all stitching must be newly stitched not something from last year that you never got around to making into something, we stitch on linen or evenweave 32 ct ONLY, NEUTRAL shades (tan, ivory, brown, goldens-ivory/yellow, white, bone, etc.) please no heavily mottled linens, please make sure that you include a STITCHED SQUARE and a SIGNATURE, pay attention to likes/dislikes and if unsure just ask your partner what they would like....and as always if you have any questions - its just easier to ask before it turns into a fiasco...not that we've had any, just in general. Yesterday, the postman brought these delightful squares from Ruth. They are perfect and I just love these colorful birds. Isn't the signature square beautiful? She also sent lots of lovely flosses...some Six Strands Sweet and GAST in soft spring colors. And to top it all off, a Mary Engelbreit card. I am a big fan of Mary Engelbreit. Package from down under!!

After a long (12 hours!) day of classes, what a wonderful surprise to come home to--a fun filled box from Australia! Stacey sent me the cutest pic of a koala bear--how cute! She also sent some yummy chocs (timtams are sublime!). Best of all, of course, are her lovely squares! Cows are my "thing" and this one is just too cute. Beautifuly done, too! Haven't decided how I will finish it, but it will go in my purple cow office for sure. Thanks, Stacey! Hope you get my box soon.

I've been so remiss in posting the picture of the wonderful Christmas sampler Peg sent to me, and for giving here a big thanks on the blog. Hello everyone. I am new to the Fair and Square exchange so will take this opportunity to introduce myself.
My name is Kathy A. - 55 - retired - and live 6 months of the year on Lake Ontario, in Ontario Canada and 6 months of the year in Yuma, Arizona - from water to desert - go figure!
I am the mother of two grown sons and have a granddaughter 11 and two grandsons 3 and 16 months who are the spring in my step.

Boy was I spoilt...

Yesterday I received this beautiful package from Joan from Minnesota, though I wans't able to open it until midnight it was well worth the wait...

My squares from Paula D

I received an amazing package from Paula D with the cutest squares she stitched for me. She also sent some other wonderful goodies that will come in very handy. I love receiving stash goodies :-)

Lin, your squares are on their way...

I just dropped your squares off at the post office. Hopefully, you will have them in a couple of days. I took pictures before I mailed them. If you want me to post pictures when you get them, let me know.

This was my first time participating in Fair & Square, and it was hords of fun.

Deadlines Approaching...

Hello Fair and Square Members!
I hope each of you had a special Holiday Season and the best of starts to 2008!

I thought I'd pop on quickly and remind everyone of our deadlines quickly approaching....
January 5, 2008: Last day for mailing your squares for this round
January 16, 2008: Last day for signing up for Round #5 of Fair and Square

Names for Round #5 will be pulled and distributed by January 18, 2008.

And don't forget to post to the board when you mail and when you receive your squares, so that we're all on the same page. Also a quick e-mail to your partner when you send/receive squares is also a nice way to let your partner know what's going on. I appreciate you all, the squares received so far have been FABULOUS!!!

Newbie to the Fair and Square board

Hi all

I've decided to join in the fun, and have signed up for the Fair and Square exchange.

I'm Rowyn and live near Wellington in New Zealand. I have three cats and an OH. :-) I've been stitching for about 15 years and am looking forward to getting more involved in exchanges.
